چکیده
Abstract Lexically, 52.99% of the Tibeto-Burman languages, non-Sinitic branches Sino-Tibetan language family, treat fog as something identical or similar to cloud, based on our database 234 varieties; there are three lexical relations such fog-cloud similarity in namely cloud colexified with fog, a hypernym and formative fog. The rest languages use semantically disconnected words describe cloud. high proportion compared that non-Tibeto-Burman spoken alongside Trans-Himalayan region (i.e., 10.80%, result 213 varieties), has its historical reason, relics Proto-Tibeto-Burman. However, other than phylogenetic factors, an underlying reason can be attributed environmental influence. present findings indicate is more likely happen at higher elevations, particularly between range 1000 m 3000 above sea level. After reviewing meteorological features, it found ideal conditions for formation low humidity through orographic uplift due mountainous environment. Since speakers live dominant region, may surround them beneath their view. Therefore, they find difficult not necessary distinguish from Our conclusion also supported by families regions, Daghestanian Caucasus Central Andes. Moreover, agree theory efficient communication. That is, displaying adaptive elevations less communicative need two concepts using completely different unrelated linguistic forms; contrary, divergence have stronger do so, resulting well adaptation extra-linguistic Finally, tropical climates, another possible predictor similarity, identified future research direction.

متن کاملNon-structural Case Marking in Tibeto-Burman and Artificial Languages*
This paper discusses the diachronic development of non-structural case marking in TibetoBurman and in computer simulations of language evolution. It is shown how case marking is initially motivated by the pragmatic need to disambiguate between two core arguments, but eventually may develop flagging functions that even extend into the intransitive domain. Also, it is shown how different types of...
متن کاملAnalyses of genetic structure of Tibeto-Burman populations reveals sex-biased admixture in southern Tibeto-Burmans.
An unequal contribution of male and female lineages from parental populations to admixed ones is not uncommon in the American continents, as a consequence of directional gene flow from European men into African and Hispanic Americans in the past several centuries. However, little is known about sex-biased admixture in East Asia, where substantial migrations are recorded. Tibeto-Burman (TB) popu...
متن کاملProsodic issues in synthesising thadou, a tibeto-burman tone language
The objective of the present analysis is to present linguistic constraints on the phonetic realisation of lexical tone which are relevant for the choice of a speech synthesis development strategy for a specific type of tone language. The selected case is Thadou (Tibeto-Burman), which has lexical and morphosyntactic tone as well as phonetic tone displacement. The last two constraint types differ...
متن کاملThe acoustic and perceptual features of tone in the tibeto-burman language ao naga
The tonemes of the Waromung Mongsen dialect of Ao Naga, a Tibeto-Burman of northeast India, are described with respect to their auditory and acoustic features. Even though rather small FO differences are found to separate each contrasting toneme, the results of a perception test nevertheless demonstrate that these small differences are perceptually salient to a native speaker and are readily id...
